41°43́ 70" N, 49°56́ 88" W. 12465 feet/3790 meters. 1520. What do all these numbers have in common? They are the longitude, latitude, depth and number of casualties of the greatest maritime disaster in all of history. With three little words: "Iceberg, right ahead!" the world’s most luxurious ocean liner, the ship that only God could sink, struck a glancing blow against a floating growler and ensured her place in history.

The Royal Mail Ship TITANIC set sail on 12 April 1912 enroute from South Hampton, England to New York, USA. On 15 April 1912, just 386 nautical miles from St Johns, New Foundland, Canada, the Titanic slipped beneath the frigid Atlantic waters and lay hidden from the world until 1985.

On 25 July I began my greatest odyssey. Setting out from Boston, Massachusetts, I bid my family adieu and headed for the Great White North. My first night in St. Johns, Newfoundland was spent in a hotel which sported the moniker "The Journey’s End". Kind of appropriate, considering our little band of explorers would leave here to take the road less traveled.
